Power
Abundant, affordable, and reliable power via Alliant Energy. Our region has its own power plant plus it is connected to the power plants in Cedar Rapids, on separate lines. Substations are plentiful.
Fiber
The region offers a variety of broadband Internet connectivity from wireless, cable modem and DSL, to T1, T3, OC3 and beyond. Primary fiber presence is via Qwest & Iowa Telecom. AT&T is a major service provider, using Qwest's fiber. Qwest is redundant in all directions and we have a ring. Heart of Iowa, Mediacom, and McCleod are also present with redundant fiber.

Single-factor tax system provides for no tax on products and services sold outside Iowa. Iowa has no property, machinery, computer or inventories tax on sales and equipment expenditures. Iowa rewards research and development with grants and state income tax credits.
